What liposuction for men treats
Men store fat differently from women, and the areas that resist diet and exercise are usually the abdomen, the flanks, the chest and under the chin. Liposuction removes those deposits and reshapes the outline; it is not a treatment for being overweight, and it works best where the skin still has good elasticity.
The techniques used
The fat can be removed with classic liposuction, with Vaser liposuction, which loosens it with ultrasound first, or with high-definition liposuction and abdominal etching, which sculpt the outline of the muscles underneath for men who are already lean and train regularly. Enlarged breast tissue is a different problem, treated by gynecomastia surgery, and a double chin by chin liposuction.
Recovery
A compression garment is worn for the period the surgeon sets, swelling and bruising settle over the following weeks, and the final contour appears once the tissues have relaxed. Your surgeon says when you can return to training - the answer depends on how much was treated and where.
Who it suits
Men whose weight is stable, whose skin has retained its elasticity, and who want to change a shape rather than a number on the scales. Where skin has lost its tone, tightening surgery may be needed as well, which is something the surgeon assesses in person. Results are on the before and after page, and you can ask about your own case through the free consultation.
